In this movie by film studio Stephenson/Bishop, Japanese architect Sou Fujimoto explains how he tried to combine nature and architecture when designing this year’s Serpentine Gallery Pavillion.

Having recently seen the project, it does create a transparent architecture that encloses, but communicates strongly with the park. A semi-enclosed negative space with seating in and on the structure is created, with the grid reaching up from the ground and thinning out after several metres.
